As an experienced Administrative Assistant in this role you will directly support ViaSat leadership as well as their teams.

This dynamic, senior management team in the Government Systems Division requires a high energy individual with considerable initiative, keen communication skills, discernment, and follow through to provide a variety of support services to a diverse group of individuals with a variety of needs.

Duties include:

  • Provide administrative support to GSD staff

  • Contact company personnel at all organizational levels to gather information and organize meetings

  • Provide a professional interface with customers on the phone and in person. Facilitate phone calls and meetings with customers. Escort visitors to / from meetings.

  • Perform other general administrative tasks, including calendar management, correspondence, word processing, editing presentations, setting up conference calls and VTCs and web based meetings, managing frequent onsite catering and occasional offsite events

  • Collaborate on special projects as needed


  • 5+ years of administrative assistant experience with increasing responsibilities

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Proven ability to work effectively and courteously with a wide range of personalities and across multiple levels of an organization

  • Ability to work independently and on a team across multiple locations

  • High degree of organization and initiative

  • Ability to balance various deadline-driven tasks from multiple sources simultaneously with composure and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines while addressing numerous interruptions

  • Experience working with sensitive information that requires a high level of discretion

  • Highly motivated and have the ability to learn quickly and independently

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word) and strong intermediate skills with PowerPoint, Excel

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent years of experience

  • US government position; US citizenship required


  • Proven ability to readily learn and lead the adoption of new technologies and computer applications

  • Advanced web-based tool skills (SharePoint, Concur)

  • Familiar with Oracle, Web-based conference tools, Lync

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • A current US Government Secret Security Clearance is a plus
