JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under general supervision of the Wisconsin Veterans Homes at Union Grove (WVHUG) Admissions & Discharges Supervisor, this position determines the admissions eligibility of veterans, their spouses, surviving spouses, and parents, based on medical criteria, state and federal statutes, administrative codes and regulations for Skilled Nursing Facilities, and Community-Based Residential Facilities. The incumbent implements the marketing plan for the WVHUG and functions as back-up for admissions department staff. Coordinate communication between patients, family members, medical staff, administrative staff, or regulatory agencies. Develop and distribute newsletters, brochures, or other printed materials to share information with patients or medical staff. Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients using medical or administrative knowledge. Ask questions in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information, such as person's name, address, age, religious preference, or state of residency. Assist individuals in filling out applications or questionnaires. Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy. Prepare reports to provide answers in response to specific problems. Perform office duties, such as telemarketing or customer service inquiries, maintaining staff records, billing patients, or receiving payments. Arrange hospital admissions for patients. Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts. Produce still and animated graphics for on-air and taped portions of television news broadcasts, using electronic video equipment. Identify new advertising markets, and propose products to serve them. Deliver advertising or illustration proofs to customers for approval. Write articles, bulletins, sales letters, speeches, and other related informative, marketing and promotional material. Convert various types of files for printing or for the Internet, using computer software. Edit graphics and photos, using pixel or bitmap editing, airbrushing, masking, or image retouching. Check preliminary and final proofs for errors and make necessary corrections. Enter text into computer keyboard and select the size and style of type, column width, and appropriate spacing for printed materials. Prepare sample layouts for approval, using computer software.
