Main Purpose of Job: The primary role of Senior Director, Life Sciences & Pharmaceutical Market is managing the entire offerings & portfolio in Japan from strategic business perspective based on business opportunities in the market. This position has 3 direct reports; Life Science (LS) Solutions manager, large Pharma segment sales manager, and mid-sized & non Pharma segment sales manager. The key focused roles put under the leadership of Senior Director, Life Sciences & Pharmaceutical Market are as followings:

Building go-to-market strategies in LS Solutions and Pharma sales: The Life Science business handles several products and services including Competitive intelligence, Regulatory intelligence, Clinical trial intelligence and its related services. Leading 3 direct reports, creating Go-to-market strategies through market analysis, competitive environment and customers’ needs

Products and Offering management: Communicating with Global Life Science teams and taking into account of Global product strategies and local market environments, prepare and execute product game plans including launching, configurations and the pricing. This may also includes local requirements discussions with Global product teams for future products.

Distribution management: Collaborating with Pharma sales leaders, drive distribution strategies for direct sales account managers and possible distributors

Profits/Losses responsibility: By price management for each product and offering, responsible for Profits / Losses

Lead annual business plan including financials: In the annual process to create a new business plan for the next year, leading to prepare an annual plan including product strategies and its financials working with direct reports.

Key Responsibilities and Duties: - Build short and long term strategies of the product and services offering and execute them collaborating with sales teams. Transform the operations in terms of operational excellence, productivity, and customer satisfaction. - Set, monitor, and achieve the key metrics of the operations including quality and customer satisfaction, cost and productivity - Closely collaborate with the global product teams to build product go-to-market game plans and to discuss future product needs - Be responsible for P&L of LS business including Pharma sales team

Potentially successful backgrounds: 1. Leadership experience in Business process reformation in multinational environment 2. Leadership role in sales and marketing

The successful candidate will have most of the following qualifications: 1. Know and is interested in challenges and solutions on business management 2. Capabilities to find problems and solve them by him/herself to reform service delivery processes 3. Communication and negotiation ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders in a complex organizational structure and different priorities 4. Strong capability in communicating in English and in Japanese 5. People management capabilities to build a strong team which is culturally integrated and motivated 6. Customer orientation

Nice to have:

  1. Experience in Intellectual Properties, Research analytics and/or Life Science
  2. Experience in leading a big project to change and simplify processes and procedures which impacts the organization’s effectiveness
