Senior Product Marketing Director – Cross Industry Innovation (Global)

Overview

JDA Software, who Plans to Deliver for our Customers,is searching for aSenior Product Marketing Director. This role is responsible for developing – and then telling – to both internal and external audiences the go to market positioning and value of JDA solutions to drive awareness and software demand. He or she creates the product marketing strategy and plan, coordinates a variety of execution resources (e.g. content, offers) across the company and ensures inside/direct/channel sales resources have the knowledge and tools required to create demand and convert leads into opportunities into closed business.

What you will do:

  • Define the market opportunity for a product

  • Perform targeting/segmentation exercises

  • Identify a product’s core demand type (e.g. new concept, new paradigm, established market)

  • Map out the potential buying process for the product, including key roles that will participate in it

  • Develop buyer personas for the identified roles

  • Build positioning and messaging for a product

  • Develop compelling content for product marketing collateral such as: whitepapers, case studies, datasheets, and other documents to promote thought leadership and brand

  • Represent JDA in Supply Chain industry speaking events

  • Gather competitive intelligence and perform competitive analysis

  • Collaborate with a formal sales enablement function and/or sales operations on a well-defined sales enablement plan

  • Lead or assist in the creation of enablement content for direct and indirect sales resources (e.g. playbooks, battle cards, scripts, presentations, training modules and demos)

  • Product naming

  • Manage launch planning and orchestrate execution of the commercial release of a product, including campaign strategy and/or alignment to existing solution campaign structure

  • Develop a range of customer testimonials for external/internal use, including written case studies

  • Drive product retention strategies, or assist a formalized customer marketing function in doing so

  • Conduct win/loss interviews and perform ongoing analysis

  • Maintain a supportive and collaborative environment to bring out the best work of the extended team.

  • Gain a masterful understanding of the domain you are leading, of customer needs, of our existing solution offering and of the competitive landscape.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Keen understanding of innovation and leading-edge technologies

  • Demand type and how it alters the general sales/ marketing approach at a fundamental level

  • Common b-to-b market segments

  • Sales organization structure, including third-party channel routes to market

  • Strong writing/presentation building

  • Able to develop strategies for creating pipeline for new offerings as well as upsell, cross-sell and account-based marketing programs to grow existing relationships

  • Project management

  • Able to analyze information collected from win/loss interviews and pipeline behavior (conversion rates and velocity) to detect breakdowns in the marketing and sales process

  • Able to link product launches to organizational campaign themes and goals

  • Strong business acumen

  • Empathetic to a variety of sales resources (inside/field/channel) and what motivates them

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 6+ years of product marketing experience

  • Product management experience strongly desirable

  • Previous sales experience a plus

  • Salesforce automation

  • Marketing automation

  • Business intelligence

  • Social media platform/tools

  • Retail Industry experience preferred, but not required
