Wells Fargo Analytic Consultant 5 (Marketing Business Case Lead Analyst) in San Francisco, California

The Marketing team has a unique and exciting opportunity for an Analytics Consultant to support the Marketing Digital and Social Capabilities (MDSC) function within the Insights & Analytics (Marketing Analytics) team. In this role you will help craft business cases and inform senior leadership as to the ROI/ROMI of key investments, projects, and capabilities.

Specific job functions include:

  • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve deployment of new technologies

  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations May analyze or recommend commercially available software

  • Partner with business, operations, and technology teams for requirements gathering, analysis, testing and project execution. Analyze current state and future state requirements, and determine gaps

  • Propose solutions for business problems. Document functional and data requirements and specifications

  • Coordinate walkthrough sessions with required stakeholders/project working group. Drive requirements closure by acquiring necessary approvals from appropriate stakeholders

  • Participate in test strategy and test case development and support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities

  • Identify and track project issues and risks, and communicate effectively with business, operations, and technology teams. Participate in end-to-end project management for key strategic and regulatory projects

  • Participate in large scale projects and create and track project plans and milestones. Deliver reports and presentations to senior management audience, developers, architects and operation groups

  • Advocate for the user by building relationship with consumers and act as a liaison between the Business and Technology in order to successfully drive implementation of application features and user interactions that provide an excellent experience

Marketing leads the development of integrated marketing strategies across Wells Fargo's 90 plus business lines and national geography. The group is responsible for brand strategy and advertising, database and experiential marketing including the company's 12 history museums, integrated program and product development, market research and related customer analytics, and diverse segments strategy and business development.

This role is part of the Insights and Analytics Team (I&A), which is a new and exciting team striving to provide best-in class analytic support. Our charter is to provide meaningful insights that inform our business/customer marketing strategies as well as our broader Wells Fargo strategic initiatives through growth opportunities.

Within the MDSC and DCE support team, our primary engagement model involves:

  • Business Case Development / Measurement: we partner with finance and the MDSC capabilities teams to estimate the impact of new capabilities/platforms and then develop a measurement plan to read-out on performance

  • Web Analytics: our team is the enterprise center of excellence for web analytics and we are charged with business ownership of Aster as well as development of a long-term roadmap for new web analytics reporting and capabilities (e.g. API integration, site performance dashboard, etc.)

  • Technical Consultation for Enterprise Capabilities: in addition to web analytics, our team partners with EDA and MM on platforms (MAT/C2T/etc.) and analytical integration of new technologies (Doubleclick tag deployment, DMP, etc.)

  • MDSC Pod Leadership: in partnership with Research, Social Analytics & Measurement, our team leads the I&A Pod for integrated support of MDSC projects

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility to build and maintain effective working relationships

  • Financial services industry experience
