SC Department of Public Safety Administrative Assistant/Senior Compliance Specialist - 65653 in Richland County, South Carolina
*_THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN PROCEDURE & COMPLIANCE/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY-DATA ENTRY - HEADQUARTERS - BLYTHEWOOD, SOUTH CAROLINA._ *The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring South Carolina motor vehicle laws are abided by and that necessary sanctions are being enforced when necessary. The incumbent reports directly to the supervisor or manager of the unit. The Senior Compliance Specialist typically performs more complex transactions. Serves as team lead for the unit. He/she is capable of working independently, guiding others and functioning as a team lead in specialized areas of the department.
Uses SCDMV Phoenix System to enter, retrieve, update or provide data for customers, courts or law enforcement.
Corrects customer information resulting from erroneous data entry.
Reviews documents for accuracy and compliance.
Enters traffic accident data from the TR310 Collision Report into the SCDMV Accident Entry System achieving the production goal with an error rate of less than 1%. Verify that accident and customer data has been correctly entered into the SCDMV Accident Entry System. Make corrections and changes in Phoenix Modify Accident as necessary. Process and enter FR10 Notice of Requirement (customer insurance information).
Prepare unit's weekly and monthly reports. Submit each report at designated time to management.
Serves as trainer to current and new employees, training them on unit procedures and entry processes.
Performs other related duties as required
Minimum and Additional Requirements: State Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Agency Requirements: A high school diploma and two (2) years related job experience. In-depth knowledge of SC motor vehicle laws and regulations. In-depth knowledge of SCDMV policies and regulations and is able to use that knowledge to train and mentor compliance specialists. Ability to understand and explain complex SCDMV policies and procedures to employees and customers. In-depth knowledge of SCDMV Phoenix system Works under limited supervision. Works in general office environment. May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week. Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. The work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
Additional Comments: Extensive knowledge of Motor Vehicle laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel and the general public. Ability to learn and explain policies and procedures to DMV customers. Ability to deal effectively with internal/external customers in disseminating obtained information. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Proficient in basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with Remedy Trouble Tickets system desired but not required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
