The VP is accountable for securing and defending formulary access for all in-line and launch brands in both diabetes and BioPharm in order to deliver on Novo Nordisk Inc. balanced scorecard performance on volume and profit targets.RELATIONSHIPS:The VP Market Access National Accounts reports to the CVP Market Access and has direct supervisory responsibility for six National Account Directors with teams managing PBMs, Health Plans, Trade Accounts, Specialty Pharmacies and Distributors, and Employers. Internal relationships and collaborative partners include Sales, Marketing, Market Access Area Account Teams and Strategy and Execution Teams, Training, PCOR, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Legal, Compliance, Public Affairs and Policy, as well as Investor Relations and Financial Planning and Analysis. External relationships include key executives in each customer type listed above as well as key trade organizations such as PCMA and AMCP. The National Accounts team is responsible for informing all appropriate NNI personnel of any and all activity or changes in account status that may impact the selling efforts of field sales.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Build and develop a best in class business to business National Account Executive team ensuring that each individual embraces the Novo Nordisk Way and delivers positive outcomes for patients by delivering profitable access for all NNI brands* Develop and maintain strong business relevant relationships with external customers focused on executive level decision-makers and influencers to secure access for NNI brands and to deliver landscape insights to internal stakeholders* Ensure the National Accounts team facilitates contract management processes from RFP through redlines to execution with customers across all areas* Anticipate trends and changes to the market to create business planning processes that align to Market Access Strategy and deliver target access and profit levels for all NNI brands* Key contributor to the development and execution of the market access strategies for all in-line and pipeline brands* Drive performance by developing and monitoring execution KPIs and metrics, creating a culture of accountability, and deploying an aligned and motivating incentive compensation plan for the National Account Teams* Execute on innovative contracting objectives through strong account management collaborations between NNI and payers* Contribute to forecasting and anchor budget processes as well as in-line and pipeline project teams, globally and at NNI, to ensure market access insights are embedded in product business plans throughout the life-cycle* Generate, explore and evaluate potential opportunities to drive access and sales across all customer segments while ensuring that quality and business ethics are not compromised* Partner with strategy and market access training teams to ensure that all staff members have training plans built upon the Novo Nordisk Way of Account Management* Make important contributions to the Executive Management at NNI as well as global Executive Management and the Board of Directors.* Fiscal* Establish and monitor expectations and targets against budgets* Establish and oversee implementation of policies and procedures relevant to the National Accounts Function* Review and audit expense reports* Ensure appropriate use of resources to achieve NNI profitability goalsDEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE:* Ensure that reporting personnel have 3P forms with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of
