Description

Responsible for performing confidential administrative and secretarial duties in support of faculty members in the Computational Biology Department. Requires significant knowledge of the policies, procedures and organization of the department, as well as ability to communicate with faculty, staff, students and other associates both inside and outside of the university.Duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring accounting statements and expenditures (highly confidential) using the Oracle system; maintaining and scheduling appointment calendars including prioritizing and screening using own judgment; arranging meetings and special events (internal and external); creating travel itineraries; completing travel expenditure forms; compiling information, organizing data and producing reports, posters and other documents as needed using complex software packages; composing and editing correspondence; maintaining web pages using web authoring tools and HTML; preparing minutes of various meetings; managing arrangements for short-term and long-term visitors (foreign and domestic); preparing and tracking materials for classroom instruction (including tests and grades); supervising and distributing assignments to work/study students; other general office and administrative support as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School/GED required, Associate's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years administrative support, office management and data entry/word processing experience required
  • Excellent organization, planning and oral/written communication skills required
