Job Description
Self Service Performance Advertising provides the platform for some of Amazon's fastest growing strategic businesses, such as Sponsored Products and Headline Search Ads. Our global advertising platform provides self-service low-latency systems for multiple performance-based advertising programs with large ad inventories. It supports both automated and advertiser-specified optimization controls and features particular integrations for using product data from across the entire Amazon catalog as a source of ad content. Our products are strategically important to our Retail and Marketplace businesses driving long term growth, and as such our organization's intiatives are highly visible to Amazon's executive leadership. We are growing at an unprecedented rate with a seemingly endless range of new opportunities, and have been a broad mandate to aggressively experiment and innovate.Within the Advertiser Intelligence program, this Product Manager will be responsible for defining and guiding the evolution of recommender and forecasting services that provide advertisers with intelligent insights. This role will have a direct impact on customers by making it easy and efficient for product suppliers (e.g. sellers, vendors, authors, agency partners) to advertise their brands and products, increase sales and improve the Amazon shopper experience. In order to deliver solutions that drive timely actions to efficiently gain great ROI from advertising, this role will work closely with dedicated engineering and data science teams to establish and execute on an aggressive roadmap for building new and novel recommendations and forecasts for potential and current advertisers. These systems leverage massive amounts of advertising and retail website data, machine learning technology and real-time analytics, and as such require a product leader with extensive technical depth and vision.The right candidate will possess a strong background in building customer-centric experiences, product or large-scale program management, and have a track record for developing a vision, defining a strategy and building programs and features from the ground up in which they have solved complicated problems with elegant, simple solutions. The candidate must be able to influence across multiple company organizations, be an exceptionally strong communicator and analytic thinker and have a history of delivering results due to their ability to not only develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but also roll up their sleeves, dig in to understand the customer experience and to deliver results. They will work closely with technical staff, UX design, and our business leadership to establish and execute on their vision. They will present strategic recommendations, product roadmaps and program updates to senior management. She or he must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytic talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • 3+ years of product management or business analysis experience in a technology focused business
  • Experience leading and influencing across matrixed teams
  • Demonstrated history of creative thinking in innovative products or services, delivering impactful and measurable improvements to existing customer pain points
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholder needs in a fast paced environment across geographies
  • Demonstrated ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
  • Solid command of systems thinking and descriptive statistics

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Experience in digital advertising technology and/or ecommerce
  • Experience doing large scale data analysis to support business decision making
