BMO Financial Group Producing Manager Mortgage Market in Munster, Indiana
The Producing Mortgage Market Manager will be accountable for achieving Mortgage Sales business performance and financial results through the implementation of customer-focused sales strategies and programs within an assigned territory. This role is also responsible for achieving personal and team mortgage volume and unit production goals.
Reporting to the Regional Mortgage Manager, the Producing Mortgage Market Manager will oversee a staff of Mortgage Bankers. The Producing Mortgage Market Manager will partner with cross-functional teams to build sales capabilities and deliver upon targeted sales strategies, maximizing product volume growth and profitability on both a Residential and personal level.
This position will apply sales management expertise to improve sales proficiency and enhance the performance of Mortgage Bankers. The Producing Mortgage Market Manager will provide business development and sales execution coaching to Mortgage Bankers.
30%: Drive Mortgage Lending Performance and Results / Managerial Leadership
Responsible for execution of the mortgage sales strategy and ensure that sales efforts are aligned with BMO Harris’ overall customer and business objectives.
Provide Mortgage Bankers with appropriate tools to effectively execute the Mortgage sales strategy, and motivate and inspire sales teams to reach sales, profitability and customer experience goals.
Maintain accountability for the achievement of Residential and personal financial results. Foster BMO Harris’ philosophy of building multiple profitable relationships with customers.
Identify and assess opportunities to accelerate growth, capitalize on cross-functional sales opportunities and improve overall customer experience.
Evaluate the effectiveness of Mortgage Bankers in achieving Residential business objectives and targets, and implement improvements as required. Review sales activities and actual performance against plan to ensure that gaps are identified and addressed.
Identify best practices in sales effectiveness and leverage them across the region sales resources.
Contribute to the achievement of BMO Harris’ overall results by participating in Residential, Branch, and community events to foster a positive image of the Bank and where appropriate, advocate for the Bank’s products and services.
Manage CRA performance by ensuring the design and development of appropriate CRA and related programs to achieve targets.
Provide inspiring leadership to the team to achieve our mandate and deliver our desired customer experience, fostering an ownership approach.
Maintain accountability for achieving results. Prepare, measure and report on budgets and performance indicators. Efficiently and effectively manage resources and capacity to attain goals.
Utilize training, performance assessment, coaching and project management best practices to lead and manage direct report(s) to successfully achieve goals.
Influence others outside of direct reporting relationships to meet objectives
Ensure superior quality loan applications through training and leadership.
50%: Mortgage Sales and Support
Create and execute individual sales plans and revenue goals for mortgage sales through Branch visits, external COIs and referrals. Successfully execute on all promotional mortgage marketing plans in order to meet or exceed mortgage production goals.
Develop complete understanding of customer needs. Analyze customer financial, credit data and other relevant information to evaluate level of risk. Present viable financial alternatives and advice to customers regarding how mortgage products can best fulfill customer needs.
Serve as an advocate for the customer during application and processing activities. Communicate frequently and clearly to set expectations, keep abreast of developments and provide excellent customer service. Receive customer applications, quote mortgage rates/points and complete necessary follow-up activities to acquire mortgage sales.
Identify opportunities to refer customers to other BMO Harris products and services.
Provide assistance in the implementation of targeted marketing programs, promotions and initiatives. Also assist in achieving market CRA goals and executing CRA activities.
Identify prospects to gain new business, including broadening and deepening relationships with existing clients as well as following up on new leads through Branch referrals. Seek opportunities to expand network by obtaining referrals from existing relationships.
Participate in various community events to generate interest in BMO Harris mortgage products and services.
Adhere to all required lending policies, procedures and standards, including First Principles and BMO Harris’ Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Act in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements that include, but are not limited to, Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Reporting requirements, FCAC consumer provision requirements, and Privacy Act provisions in accordance with Bank policies and procedures.
Follow security and safeguarding procedures and apply appropriate due diligence in accordance with Bank policy for the prevention of loss due to fraud, robbery, counterfeiting, money laundering or defalcation.
Maintain the confidentiality of both customer and Bank information ensuring compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.
Understand risks and take appropriate actions as they relate to personal banking, deposit and investment products, including all documentation, and any other requirements to maintain operational integrity.
Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Thorough knowledge of mortgage lending
Knowledge and understanding of Mortgage Sales and competitive marketplace and trends
3-5 years of Mortgage Sales experience
2-3 years of Leadership experience
In-depth Sales and Customer Service orientation skills
Expert communication and relationship building skills
Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proven leadership and managerial skills
Ability to manage production performance of others while still meeting individual production targets
