Profitably grow the ASR Group business in the Grocery channel in the strategically important UK market and the new EU geographies, by providing both leadership and service to the business to achieve volume, CTO and brand objectives.
Manage the development and the implementation of the marketing plans in the UK and the EU
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively manage the product portfolio (branded & PL) including full accountability over P&L, to deliver profitable volume & CTO growth for ASR-Group in grocery.
Build strong cross-functional relationships with sales and supply chain to ensure full alignment around key programmes and to provide direction and influence representing the marketing agenda.
Identify opportunities for activity & NPD to support the long term brand and corporate strategies.
Work with the European Marketing Director to develop the three year strategic plans for Grocery in the UK and EU.
Define product portfolio strategy and marketing mix as well as key support information for the sales team.
Develop the annual plan, which sets the strategic direction for activities, and establishes in-year business priorities, allocates budgets and facilitates the delivery of the European strategic plan.
Optimise the allocation of budgetary resources to maximise ROI. Control and approve expenditures to optimise effectiveness of all activity.
Drive better understanding of marketing investment and return and improve commercial discipline.
Work closely with insight and sales functions to establish appropriate price & pack architectures.
Work closely with the European Business-to-Business marketing function to ensure maximum synergies, supporting the execution of activities in the UK across all sales channels.

Set clear performance management objectives for direct report, aligned to market and corporate strategic objectives, and drive a culture of accountability for delivering against these
Lead and coach team members to ensure optimum development plans for each individual are put in place
CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
Substantial commercial experience to include FMCG in the UK
Business Management experience with evidence of delivering value creating strategies
Direct experience working within a matrix, multi-geographic marketing structure.
Typically 10 years of marketing experience working on a major brand/portfolio
Proven strategic business planning and leadership skills
Understanding of development and application of insight to drive business value
Proven experience in managing and influencing cross-functional teams
Consistent track record of tangible business results
Strong strategic influencing and negotiations skills
Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills in English
Working knowledge of other major European languages is a strong advantage
