Position Title: Marketing Analyst

Position Summary:

Generate, coordinate and implement marketing programs and promotions for the North American Aftermarket (A/M), OE and Fleet sales channels by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Interface with all product groups as needed.

Accountable for bringing market knowledge to the business e.g. developing marketing ideas, running BW reports, market research, creating campaigns or providing properly designed marketing material to the sales organization, product lines and other internal customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the Dealer Incentive Program through coordinating efforts to ensure up to date website information and functionality, coordination with appropriate vendors & product lines, direct dealer contact, timely tracking and reward payouts.

  • Support and drive customer focused activities, including ad hoc inquiries from the field, pricing requests, formal requests for quote, customer supply agreements, and awards of business.

  • Provide Voice of the Customer (VOC) input to the CoC’s, and drive the “outside in” approach to product development programs and product promotions.

  • Provide marketing direction & leadership to the premier distributor program and co-op funding program.

  • Identify and track share of demand and use in strategy and promotional development.

  • Maintain competitive archive and conduct detailed competitive analyses.

  • Establish a consistent “feel” among all promotional activities between each CoC.

  • Manage the marketing portal and certain aspects ofwww.bendix.comas needed.

  • Support the national sales meeting and other sales and marketing events as needed.

  • Develop a target list of fleets and support the direct marketing efforts by ensuring timely, on-going mailing of key electronics information to targeted contacts, direct follow-up with contacts, track and evaluate efforts, and provide lead information to appropriate sales team.

  • Conduct market research to support CoC marketing strategy to fleets and dealer channel as appropriate.

  • Support new literature development efforts.

  • Produce business analytical reports tracking various trends and product information utilizing internal Bendix sales systems.

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of Aftermarket product promotions with CoC product managers and marketing managers.

  • Support and drive customer focused activities, including ad hoc inquiries from the field.

  • Maintain competitive archive and conduct detailed competitive analyses.

  • Conducts research and survey activities to determine customer satisfaction levels, customer expectations, market conditions, company image, etc..

  • Derives recommendations regarding product / service positioning.

  • Performs the development and implementation of marketing sales tools.

  • Able to manage specific marketing special projects as needed.

  • Manage 3rdparty marketing vendors.


  • Basic commercial vehicle industry knowledge including the OE, Fleet and Aftermarket channels, including OES, IAM, OEM class 6,7,8 vehicle manufacturers, trailer manufacturers and main competitors.

  • Understanding of high level overall vehicle systems including braking (pneumatic, and electrical architecture) and the interactions of the braking systems with other portions of the vehicle (i.e. engine, transmission, dash and interface to the operator of the vehicle).

  • Marketing practices, tools and methodologies – including targeted and direct marketing – of industrial products; telephone marketing research techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of sales strategies.

  • Working knowledge of database and query software.


  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant product marketing, sales, product management or business development in the automotive, commercial vehicle or heavy industrial equipment industry.

  • Prior experience in the commercial vehicle industry preferred.


  • Able to write copy, guide creative design and layout of marketing collateral.

  • Web site updates.

  • Able to interface directly with customers to build meaningful relationships that further projects.

  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels in the organization and establish a collaborative work environment.

  • Project management competency

  • Emphasis on customer satisfaction; makes customer and sales related tasks a priority.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work well with people across a matrix / cross functional organization; interacts regularly with sales, engineering, finance, SBM, and operations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products and other software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, BW and SAP reporting.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, proactive manner – highly desired.

  • Ability to work with little supervision and independently.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and shift priorities as necessary.

Travel & Lifting

  • Must be capable of traveling approximately 20% of the time to events i.e. demos, trade shows, etc.

  • Must be capable of lifting approximately 20 – 40 lbs. on an occasional basis.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is required.
