City of CartersvillePosition PostingDepartment: Downtown Development AuthorityPosition: Marketing/Promotions Coordinator (Part Time)Date of Posting: Tuesday, May 16, 2017Duties/Responsibilities:25 hours per week with ability to work flexible schedule depending on scheduled events.Responsible for coordinating special events, social media management, and general outreach and promotions, plus other duties as determined by DDA Manager. Plan and implement DDAevents including sponsor recruitment, volunteer & vendor coordination, event promotion, on-site management, etc. Assist with logistics & planning of non-DDA events held in downtown facilities. Scheduling project implementation and defining budget constraints. Promote downtown businesses, events, and place-making efforts through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, DDA website, and other platforms. Create monthly newsletter for downtown stakeholders. Promote downtown outreach efforts including merchant meetings, merchant contests, sidewalk sales, etc. Perform all other tasks assigned by DDA Manager.Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, PR, communications, or similar field preferred. 4 years' experience in public relations, social media management, business communications, and/or marketing/promotions may be accepted in lieu of college degree. Experienced with MS Office, up to date with industry leading software and technologies (In Design, Illustrator, Photoshop etc) Working with a wide range of media and using graphic design software Excellent interpersonal communications and organizational skills. Must have valid driver's license and be willing to occasionally drive to pass out promotional materials, pick up donations, attend trainings, etc. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
