Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Media Laboratory (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.) to join a collaborative and diverse team working on projects that make an impact in early education using social robots. Responsibilities will include organizing and scheduling human-subject studies/experiments; recruiting participants and coordinating with collaborating organizations (schools, hospitals, etc.); maintaining and expanding contact lists of study participants and organizations; acting as the point of contact for study participants and organizations; writing (preparing) and distributing recruitment email, correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms; preparing and following through on research protocol documents; assisting with the preparation of regularly scheduled reports; coordinating meetings and logistics; assisting with in-lab and off-campus human-subject studies; providing general tours of the lab to in-lab study participants; annotating study videos; and organizing and maintaining study data storage (download, upload, and backup).

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma; strong computer file management skills; strong interpersonal skills, especially with children; working knowledge of office equipment, i.e., printers and fax machines; excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize work; attention to detail; problem solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and scheduling skills; advanced computer skills including proficiency with Macintosh computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Gmail and Google Drive/GoogleDocs; initiative, resourcefulness, and flexibility; excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a creative and diverse group of people and contribute to the groups’ community; diplomacy; and discretion and superb judgment with confidential information/issues. Bachelor’s or graduate degree in psychology or teaching and a proven record of working with children and/or conducting human-subject studies preferred. Job #14688-5
