Verizon Program Manager - Marketing Capabilities in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

This leader will perform a critical role within the marketing organization, with responsibility for managing Verizon’s Marketing Academy, a learning program aimed at developing leading marketing skills and behaviors for the entire marketing community across Verizon. As Verizon embarks on a journey of a new way of marketing in today's increasingly connected, real-time world, the incumbent will have the critical role of ensuring that our marketers have the knowledge, tools, and capabilities to thrive in this new way of marketing. Our goal is to be seen and recognized as the world's best marketing organization, capable of building the world’s most admired and beloved brands, and the individual in this role will be a key enabler against this goal.

The Program Manager will maintain the cadence for the program, working closely with the marketing leaders across all business units and the CMO. S/he will drive the growth and evolution of the program, monitor program effectiveness, report results, and guide improvement. A strong candidate will have a background that includes learning & development, program management as well as extensive marketing experience. In this capacity, the manager will need capabilities of strategic foresight/agility, change management/communication skills and outstanding organization operations skills.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement a scalable and evolving roadmap to deliver the Marketing Academy strategy.

  • Handle key strategic and operational responsibilities of planning and execution of the Marketing Academy.

  • Interface with key stakeholders to inform of plans, work in progress, and report on program effectiveness.

  • Perform as a strong owner, working closely with internal partners to align with the marketing strategy.

  • Continually improve effectiveness and operational efficiency of the programs.

  • Build best practices into Verizon corporate marketing succession planning and talent assessment.

  • Develop and maintain analytic solutions to ensure program adoption, quality, and effectiveness.

  • Use existing business and performance data for training needs analysis and measurement of impact.

  • Own the employee engagement survey strategy, execution, and senior leader action-planning process.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or six years work experience.

  • Six years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Proven leader in driving enterprise-wide learning initiatives and strategic projects related to L&D.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and/or delivering adult learning, and talent management programs.

  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

  • Have flexibility with changing programs and processes.

  • A willingness to dive deep, experiment rapidly, and get things done.

  • Experience working within an ever-evolving/demanding environment with changing tasks/priorities.

  • Ability to develop creative solutions that address relevant and changing business needs.

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills within all levels in the organization including senior leadership; proven track record of forming and maintaining positive business relationships.

  • High degree of organization with excellent project management skills; experience working cross-functionally and cross-regionally.

  • Agency/Vendor management experience preferred.
