Hormel Foods Corporation Administrative Assistant - Legal in Austin, Minnesota

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person in this position: 

Provides administrative support to the attorneys and paralegals on a variety of legal matters, including contract review, real estate, legal due diligence, litigation, wage garnishments and bankruptcy matters. 

Assists with maintaining legal files, which include all of the signed, original documents from throughout the Company and its subsidiaries, such as contracts, real estate documents, purchase agreements, loan agreements, intellectual property agreements, custom manufacturing agreements, etc.  

Contacts daily with representatives of all business units, plants and subsidiaries (written and verbal). 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required 

Two years experience working in a law firm or legal department. 

Administrative skills including the ability to type efficiently. 

Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers (Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus Notes and Calendar), typewriters and facsimile.  

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.  

Strong interpersonal skills and proven success working in a team environment.  

Demonstrated use of strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.  

Strong verbal and written communication skills to include a thorough command of the English language. 

Preferred

 

Ability to prioritize work in a very fast paced environment.  

Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat version 8.0 or higher, including editing documents in a .pdf format.
