Job Summary:Jobs in this career family are responsible for performing a wide range of professional duties to support the university's teaching, research and/or service missions through the provision of health and wellness services, dealing with general, indirect patient care operations and management of healthcare services. Functions include hospital administration, healthcare regulatory compliance, patient relations, operational services, admissions, and medical records. Includes professional assignments in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, counseling and behavioral health, public health, dietetics and nutrition, other allied health fields, alternative medicine and therapies, and related disciplines.
Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.
This is a senior position in the center that interfaces directly and collaboratively with the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology, Hemophilia & Thrombosis and Children's Hospital Colorado Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD). The Managed Care and Marketing Senior Professional position is responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships, as well as overseeing contractual commitments with health plans, employer groups, and governmental agencies engaged in developing health networks and providing payment for pharmacy services. Functions of this position will also include: development of marketing collateral; maintaining key relationship with advocacy groups, companies, government agencies; management and enhancement of the website and other social media; developing, implementing and maintaining payer marketing strategies; application of government regulations including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, and the 340B Pharmacy Program; developing/implementing payer marketing strategies and plans; continuing market research; negotiation of payer contracts with guidance from University Counsel and Finance; development of strategy and fee schedules for pharmaceutical industry pricing; and performing other tasks as required and/or assigned.
PLEASENOTE:Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is/is not eligible for overtime compensation.

A bachelor's degree in healthcare, marketing or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional level experience in medical related sales, marketing, or account management for a healthcare provider program. This experience must include budget and/or fiscal management and analysis.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.
Conditions of Employment:
Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.Must be willing and able to pass a criminal background check.
Master's degree in business (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), and/or public administration (MPA); Juris Doctor (JD) or Doctorate (PhD) in a related field.Previous experience working within a university, non-profit or public sector.Previous pharmacy management experience.Previous experience working with the rules and regulations of government payers (Medicaid, Medicare).Three (3) or more years of experience in medical related sales, marketing or account management, this experience must include two (2) years of marketing experience.
