As a Shopper Marketing Manager, Grocery Channel at Constellation Brands, you are charged with helping to create demand in-store, by developing marketing programs that will influence shopper behavior and stimulate Category/store demand. You will partner with Grocery Channel sales teams, Constellation Brand Marketing, Constellation Insights, as well as retail merchants and category marketing to develop and deliver integrated Customer Business Plans based on strong shopper insights and grocery channel marketing objectives. While ensuring strategic alignment between our Consumers, Shoppers, Customer and Constellation Brands’ objectives, you will:

  • Develop and execute marketing programs and lead business analysis and project management.

  • Develop an overall marketing strategy to differentiate the brand, strengthen consumer awareness and overall engagement.

  • Be an active leader within the marketing team and collaborate with cross-functional groups across the organization.

  • Effectively represent brands with our internal sales team, distributor network, retail trade and consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Define Customer Marketing strategies/priorities for Account team based on Customer understanding. Conduct ongoing business and insights analysis to identify the appropriate marketing strategy and plans while understanding the brand positioning, consumer and retailer needs. Identify key short and longer-term retailer Shopper issues and opportunities.

  • Lead a cross functional team to identify sales and profit opportunities for CBI that can be addressed by shopper marketing. Develop marketing strategies and promotions to achieve joint business plans: writing briefs, leading brainstorming, refining concepts with brand teams, selling ideas to retail Customer, overseeing all creative development and execution.

  • Shared responsibility for the delivery of volume, share and profit objectives consistent with overall brand strategy. Successfully initiate programs that drive profitable business results for CBI and the Customer.

  • Initiate work with Agency, provide feedback, present ideas to Customer and ensures execution.

  • Manage multiple projects at one time with various due dates, requirements and priorities.

  • Ability to plan and manage a budget to ensure effective and efficient spends, conduct post-program analysis (ROI) and build a business case for increased investment.

  • Develop understanding of program effectiveness and efficiency by analyzing completed events. Assess marketing mix and adjusts as necessary to meet sales, profit, and marketing goals.

  • Establish contacts with and cultivates relationships with key marketing counterparts at the Customer.

  • Execute and sell a shopper marketing program to the Customer. Present strategies and ideas to both internal and Customers’ stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in a Brand Management / Trade or Shopper Marketing Management position in a consumer products company

  • Must be flexible in work style and schedule: travel up to 50%, as required

  • Syndicated database experience (IRI or Nielsen), custom database experience

  • Experience in identifying key consumer insights and developing brand strategies

  • Experience managing agencies to create consumer facing, creative point of sale / merchandising materials, which support that positioning

  • Proven desire and ability to think creatively, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communications skills; very articulate, robust public speaking and writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, solid cross functional skills, ability to work well within a team

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, ability to prioritize, and solid financial acumen

  • Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Successful candidate will be a very motivated self-starter and be able to work without daily guidance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • Experience working with national retail accounts

  • Wine industry experience

  • Sales experience

  • A passion for wine with demonstrated wine industry knowledge including wine regions, wine growing and production and 3-tier distribution highly preferred
