Basic Description:

The ITW Welding Group is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support the Welding Accessories and Cutting divisionvisions. The Marketing Specialist will participate and support the analysis, development and implementation of marketing strategies to achieve profitable revenue growth. This individual will work closely with the Marketing & Product Managers on developing and executing both upstream and downstream marketing and product management strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Support Marketing Manager with upstream marketing activities, including: Helping in the creation of problem definitions, surveys, & customer interview questionnaires as part of the new product development process.

  • Performing primary and secondary market research to define segment size and growth potential.

  • Assit in the development of marketing communication plans targeted at end user markets.

  • Compiling and analyzing data from various market research projects.

  • Assist Product Managers with downstream marketing activities, including:Creating and editing product launch materials and sales collateral (brochures, literature sheets, direct mail, email, print ads, press releases, point of purchase displays, web pages, etc.)

  • Interact with Miller/ITW marketing communication team members to coordinate communication initiatives to sales, channel partners and targted end-users.

  • Executing and following up with promotions and/or contests.

  • Assembling training presentations for both distribution channel and internal sales force.

  • Responsible for the planning, coordination and exhibitin at various trade shows.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (emphasis in marketing preferred).

  • 1-2 year's of experience required, internships included.

  • Must have excellent analytical skills and the knowledge to perform both qualitative and quantitative research.

  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues, customer needs and formulate marketing strategies.

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and solid decision making abilities.

  • Desire to take initiative and high energy to see projects through completion.

  • Ability to understand technical product-line.

  • Great communication and relationship building skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • 20-30% travel as needed.
